EARLY PREGNANCY CARE
Early Pregnancy Clinical
Care and Support
Early pregnancy can be an anxious time for many women, whether due to IVF, previous miscarriage or pregnancy loss, threatened miscarriage, a high-risk pregnancy, or a past traumatic experience. Feelings of uncertainty and anxiety are common, and many women simply want reassurance and supportive care—Belle Fleur is here to help.
As endorsed midwives, we provide guidance on pregnancy vitamin supplementation, morning sickness, and hyperemesis gravidarum.
We can arrange relevant pathology tests and ultrasound referrals, discuss any questions or concerns, and help you understand your pregnancy care options in both the public and private systems.
For women with a history of high-risk pregnancy, we can facilitate appropriate referrals and early management where needed. Support is available via Telehealth or in-person consultations, allowing you to access care in the way that works best for you.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out in the early days of your pregnancy to ensure you receive the support, guidance, and reassurance you deserve.
Threatened Miscarriage
Care and Consultation
Unfortunately, early pregnancy bleeding and complications can sometimes lead to a threatened miscarriage. While many women go on to have a healthy pregnancy, others may continue to experience bleeding or, in some cases, miscarriage.
This can be a very anxious time, and having compassionate support, clear clinical guidance, and appropriate management can make a meaningful difference. Many women describe feeling lost and unseen in the system. We are here to truly support you and assist you to navigate the health services you need.
First and foremost, supporting your emotional wellbeing in addition to where necessary clinical advice and care, pathology and ultrasound referrals, and coordination with medical teams, including referral to early pregnancy assessment clinics or private care if preferred.
Please reach out early to ensure you receive the care, guidance, and reassurance needed to help you navigate this challenging time.

Miscarriage Care
and Consultation
Early pregnancy bleeding or complications can be deeply distressing, and it is natural to feel anxious during this time. For some women, these symptoms may indicate a threatened miscarriage, which in some cases can continue and result in pregnancy loss. Others may experience a missed miscarriage with no symptoms at all. Both experiences can be heartbreaking and challenging to navigate emotionally and physically.
For some women, this may not be the first miscarriage. Experiencing multiple losses can be particularly distressing, and we are here to care for you and consider whether there may be underlying reasons. Sometimes the cause of a miscarriage can be identified, while in other cases there is no clear explanation. Even in these situations, further investigations can be considered where appropriate.
My care focuses on supporting your emotional wellbeing while providing expert clinical guidance from an experienced nurse and midwife. This includes symptom management, self-care advice, clinical care, pathology and ultrasound referrals, medical certificates, and coordination with your medical team.
I provide guidance on miscarriage management tailored to you—surgical, medical, or expectant—with ongoing follow-up to ensure your health, safety, and emotional support.
I also offer counselling, grief support, and acknowledgment of your baby, helping you navigate this sensitive time with compassion. Referrals can be arranged to early pregnancy assessment services, genetics, fertility, or other private care. Care can be delivered via Telehealth, video, or face-to-face in your home, according to your comfort.
When you feel ready, we can discuss planning for a future pregnancy, including preconception advice, recommended investigations, and early pregnancy management. Please reach out early via phone or email to receive the care, clarity, and reassurance you deserve.

Preparing For Pregnancy
Advice and Support
Pre-conception care is often overlooked, yet it plays a vital role in optimising both physical and psychological readiness for pregnancy. Receiving pre-pregnancy guidance can significantly impact maternal health, pregnancy outcomes, and overall wellbeing.
During your consultation, a comprehensive review of your medical, surgical, and obstetric history including any relevant family history will be conducted. This includes assessment of any relevant pathology, recommendations for supplementation, and lifestyle optimisation.
Consideration will also be given to complementary or holistic therapies, as well as referral to medical or fertility specialists and allied health if you have medical conditions, familial or genetic factors, or other health considerations that could influence future pregnancies and would benefit from expert medical input.
Equally important is psychological preparedness. Addressing emotional health, past pregnancy experiences, coping strategies, and expectations for pregnancy helps support resilience and confidence, ensuring you are fully prepared for the physical and emotional journey ahead.
