High Risk Pregnancy
Collaborative Care and Support
I specialise in providing collaborative care for women and couples navigating high-risk pregnancies, including but not limited to; a history of fertility challenges, multiple miscarriages, previous stillbirth or baby loss, traumatic births, pregnancies with fetal diagnoses, preterm birth, and women with disabilities or other medical conditions. I will work closely with health professionals and services and work within national guidelines to ensure early intervention, timely referrals, providing tailored support to each family’s needs.
Early referral is key in order to refer and connect you with the right hospital team and/or obstetrician which allows for early assessment and interventions that can lower risks.
My role is to complement the care that you receive from your GP, obstetrician, hospital or care team, helping to minimise feelings of confusion and anxiety and support you as you navigate the healthcare system.
For women with a medical condition or disability that need extra support; I offer in-home assessments and personalised recommendations to help prepare themselves, their family, and their home for a newborn.
We can work collaboratively with your existing care providers to ensure a smooth transition to parenthood. This includes practical adaptations and tailored considerations to support your individual needs, empowering you to feel confident, capable, and supported as you welcome your baby/s.
Support Following a Fetal Diagnosis
With many years’ experience working in Maternal Fetal Medicine, I bring extensive knowledge in this area and have supported hundreds of families through similar journeys. I provide compassionate support to help you understand your baby’s condition or diagnosis, talk through ultrasound and pathology results, medical reports, and what this means for your pregnancy and baby, navigating difficult decisions moving forward.
I can connect you with appropriate services, answer your questions, and if I don’t have the answer, help you find someone who can.
I can also guide you through what to expect in hospital, what is involved in any procedures recommended, who to speak with, and the range of counselling and support services available. I will come alongside you to help navigate the emotional journey of sadness, grief, and uncertainty with reassurance and care every step of the way.
This service can be provided by telehealth (phone or video) to ensure any woman or couple can access this support in a rapid and timely manner.
Antenatal and Postnatal Care
I offer limited monthly bookings for midwifery-led antenatal and postnatal care in collaboration with the hospital for women with low-risk pregnancies or those approved for shared care. Your care is personalised and supported by a network of healthcare professionals. I can also work alongside your existing providers to offer midwifery input as needed throughout your pregnancy.
Antenatal care includes routine monitoring, education, and birth preparation, with additional specialist support as needed.
Postnatal care is offered for up to six weeks after birth in your home and is tailored to support recovery, breastfeeding, newborn care, and emotional wellbeing.
Telehealth consultations are available between appointments for extra guidance and support.
Each consultation is personalised, focusing on building a genuine connection through education and guidance to ensure you feel safe, reassured, and confident throughout your pregnancy. With extensive experience in Maternal Fetal Medicine, I provide thorough care and coordinate prompt referrals to hospital services if any concerns arise.
Appointments are available after hours, on weekends, with limited daytime availability, so early booking is recommended. Fees & Billing
ADJUSTABLE
If medicare threshold is reached, out of pocket is significantly less for all services.
Telehealth Consultations
For women who are receiving ongoing Antenatal/Postnatal Care, all telehealth consultations are bulk billed.
No out-of-pocket cost where Medicare eligibility applies.
Early Pregnancy Telehealth
Under 20 minutes - Bulk Bill.
Over 40 mins - out of pocket approx $27.
Over 90 minutes - out of pocket approx $40.
Complex Pregnancy Counselling Telehealth Fee
$150 (approx. rebate of $73-$110).
Antenatal Home Visits
Fee: $150 per visit.
Extra long visits (>90 minutes) $200.
Medicare rebate (if applicable): $73-$100 depending on length of appointment.
Out-of-pocket: $40-$77.
Postnatal Visits
Fee: $200 per visit
Medicare rebate (if applicable): $108-$162
Out-of-pocket: $38-$92
